"Starbuck", born July 23, 1995, represents over 20 years of breeding under the kennel name of Highmark. He was an outstanding representative of the Golden Retriever standard of today. He had a strong front assembly, lovely length of back, tremendous substance, and an abundance of correctly textured coat. Starbuck's head combined a broad back skull, great depth of muzzle and strong underjaw - great for carrying birds or his favorite teddy bear! His expression would melt your heart!
Starbuck loved being in the show ring with Linda! Throughout his time as a Veteran, Starbuck attended selective Golden Retriever Specialty shows, always in the ribbons. He won the Stud Dog Class at the Golden Retriever Club of America 2002 National Specialty! This win was a real honor and tribute to Starbuck and to Highmark Golden Retrievers!
The "Big Boy" at Highmark, Starbuck enjoyed showing the youngsters that the old guys are NEVER out of the competition! Buck attended the Garden State Golden Retriever Club Specialty held in October of 2003, and earned the Best Veteran Rosette on the day! Buck then goes on to take back-to-back BEST OF BREED wins at the Central Oklahoma Golden Retriever Club Specialties on November 15th and 16th in 2003!! What an honor for Linda and the Veteran show dog!
Starbuck is missed every day...
